Legislator per-diems 2013-2017

State lawmakers receive millions of dollars a year in reimbursements for travel and daily stipends for every day they are at the state Capitol. The amount of the per diems are set by federal law, but it's the lawmakers themselves who report how often they are in Albany. Legislators put in for nearly $2.5 million in daily stipends for their trips to Albany for the first two quarters of 2017. The system has been at the heart of some criminal cases for the lax system. The database below shows the amount paid to each lawmaker from 2013through the second quarter of 2017.
